After the Women’s March in January, the beautiful song, Quiet, by MILCK grew into an anthem for resistance. MILCK invited choirs to sing the song on April 8 and post their performance online via social media.
We were fortunate to be invited to collaborate with Portland’s Badass Women’s Choir. They have a beautiful version of Quiet that we were able to dance to. Our two groups performed at Pioneer Square and Pioneer Place on April 8.
The video begins with an explanation of who the Grannies are and what our dance means. We hope you enjoy it but also understand it as a form of protest and as making a statement that we must stand up for our rights and the rights of others.
Thank you, Badass Women for including us in your performance. It was such a privilege to participate in this event. Thank you, Rick, for taking and producing the video.
